Ukrainian Youth Tourist Association
All-Ukrainian non-governmental public youth organization "Ukrainian Youth Tourist Association" (UYTA) operates in the field of youth and student tourism development and support since August 2004. UYTA is registered by Ministry of Justice of Ukraine 05.05.2006; Certificate #2446.
The primary goals of Association: assistance to youth initiatives in tourist sphere, assistance to creation of the advanced infrastructure of youth tourism in Ukraine, creation of recommendations on assistance to youth tourism on the part of executive and legislature, promotion of the Ukrainian youth tourist product both inside the country, and behind its limits.
The main activities of the Association:
- Youth Tourism and Hostelling;
- Eco-tourism;
- E-tourism;
- Training & Education in Tourism;
- Social projects of national and international significance;
- Promoting the implementation of investment projects of tourist guide.
UYTA professionals have worked out and implement the following projects: “Youth Tourism of Ukraine – Unity and European Integration”, “Social Tourism of Ukraine – European Quality without Bounders and Obstacles”, “Students Tourist Lab”, “Tourist Online Shops Protection”, “Ukrainian Functionaries Crush Youth Tourism” etc. In the period of 2004-2007 UYTA was working out recommendations in respect to the changes introduction to the legislation system: proposal on youth hostels classification and standardization; revision of the Draft of Ukraine “About Amendments Introduction to the Law of Ukraine “About Tourism”. In particular it was suggested to include into the list of travel industry notions “virtual tourist agent / tourist operator”.
UYTA has conducted a number of actions for students and young people. Due to UYTA support the following projects were started: Youth Tourist Portal www.youthtour.org.ua that allows online booking of youth hostels in Ukraine and all over the world; Network of euro hotels “Youth Tourism and Hostels of Ukraine®”; International youth tours around Ukraine on the regular basis; Educational and Experimental Center “Students Tourist Lab”; Youth Tourist Magazine “Hostel Style”. UYTA operations are supported by the Ukrainian authorities: Supreme Council, Cabinet of Ministers, and President.
Due to UYTA operations for the first time in Ukrainian tourism online booking of tours around Ukraine takes place since 15.01.08. It shows professional level of Association employees and partners and increases the number of tourists to Ukraine. In 2005-2008 UYTA partners served over 17,000 tourists (locals and foreigners) due to UYTA support of youth tourism development. In the frames of UYTA Project “Students Tourist Lab” training for the students who would become future professionals in the field of tourism is in progress. There are the following directions of training “Hostelling and Hotel Business”, “Pricing in Travel Industry”, “Marketing in Travel Industry”, and “Online Booking and Sales”. In addition to that a group of students, supervised by UYTA Vice-President Dr. Svitlana Belyaeva, has worked out the concept of development of youth tourist infrastructure of Ukraine for EURO-2012.
Since 2009, in cooperation with the State Environmental Academy and the State Service for reserve affairs UYTA began a series of projects aimed at the development of ecological tourism in Ukraine. In particular, the group of UYTA`s experts working on a concept of a national network of eco-lodges at the sites of natural-reserve fund.
